This page explains how to permanently delete your finikigai account, or just remove specific data (such as a connected bank, its transactions, and salary information) while keeping your account. You can do either directly inside the app, and we also accept requests by email if you no longer have the app installed.
1. Delete Your Entire Account
Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. There are two ways to request it.
Option A — In the app (recommended)
- Open the finikigai app and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Open the Danger Zone section.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete Forever.
Your account and all associated data are erased immediately, and you are signed out.
Option B — By email (if you no longer have the app)
Email us from the email address associated with your account and request account deletion. We will verify your identity and complete the deletion.

Send "Delete my account" to support@finikigai.com from your account email address.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- Your connected bank links (access is revoked via Plaid, stopping any further data access)
- All accounts, balances, and balance history
- All detected and confirmed bills
- All income and salary information
- All forecasts and projections
- All imported transactions
- Your profile and app preferences
- Any active subscription (it is cancelled so you are not billed again)
- Your login / authentication record
2. Delete Specific Data (Keep Your Account)
If you want to remove certain data without closing your account, you can disconnect an individual bank. This deletes everything tied to that bank while your finikigai account stays active.
In the app
- Open the finikigai app and sign in.
- Go to your Accounts.
- Select the bank connection you want to remove and choose to disconnect / remove it.
Removing a bank connection deletes that bank's accounts along with their transactions, detected bills, income/salary information, and forecasts. Your account, and any other connected banks, remain untouched.

You can also request removal of specific data by writing to support@finikigai.com from your account email address.
3. What Is Deleted vs. Retained
