About finikigai

The person behind the forecast

finikigai is a small, founder-led company. If you're wondering who's asking to connect your bank account, here's exactly who, and why.

Most people don't have a budgeting problem. They have a timing problem.

You've got money in checking. Rent is due Friday. The card statement just posted, and it's not the number it was last month. So, does it clear?

I built finikigai because I could never answer that question, and no app I tried would answer it either. They'd all tell me what I'd already spent. None of them would tell me what my balance would be next Tuesday.

So I built the thing that does. finikigai connects to your banks through Plaid (read-only; we never see your credentials) and reads your real transaction history to work out what recurs: which deposits are income and on what cadence, which charges are bills, which credit card payment comes out of which checking account. No manual entry, no categories to maintain, no spreadsheet.

Then it projects the balance of every account, every day, for the next 30 days, so you can see a shortfall days before it happens while you can still do something about it.

I read every single review, reply to support emails myself, and I'm the one who decided you should be able to delete your entire account and every byte of its data in three taps, no questions asked. That's not an accident. It's the only way I'd want a company handling my own bank connection to behave.

How we handle your data

Read-only bank access

Connections go through Plaid. We never see or store your bank login credentials.

We don't sell your data

Your transaction data is used for exactly one thing: making your forecast accurate. Never sold, never shared, never used for ads.

Delete anytime, instantly

Remove a single bank or your entire account and all its data, from inside the app. No support ticket required.
